The bodies of 11 young women and an unborn foetus have been uncovered in Albuquerque in New Mexico.
The FBI has joined in the investigation into a mass grave in which the bodies of 11 young women and an unborn foetus have been uncovered in Albuquerque in New Mexico.
So far they have only been able to identify two of the bodies, Victoria Chavez and Michelle Valdez, both of whom had been missing for several years and were known prostitutes, American media reported.
The remaining victims’ remains are being sent to FBI labs in Quantico in a bid to determine the cause of death of the victims and establish their identities.
Police are suspecting that the murders and burials seem to be the work of one person and occurred between 2004 and 2005. They also believe there could be more bodies buried in the 1,000 acre plot.
The investigation continues as the police and FBI continue to search for more bodies.
