The European Union criticised Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday for rejecting an EU-drafted police reform plan.

The European Union criticised Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday for rejecting an EU-drafted police reform plan, saying this would undermine the conclusion of talks on a key agreement for closer ties.

"Without an agreement on police reform in accordance with the EU's ... principles, the EU is unable to conclude a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina," EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said in a statement.
