EU Won`t Sign Serbia Pact Before Election-Bulgaria

`Not before the elections, not before the end of this week,` Ivailo Kalfin told reporters.

The European Union will not sign an agreement on closer ties with Serbia before next Sunday's presidential election runoff, Bulgaria's foreign minister said after EU ministers debated the issue on Monday.

"Not before the elections, not before the end of this week," Ivailo Kalfin told reporters.

"What can be done is to make an offer to Serbia to stir up the process of going the European way," he added as the ministerial discussion continued.
