European stocks drop at open, London down 0.91 percent

Europe's main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Wednesday following losses in Asia and overnight on Wall Street.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index shed 0.91 percent to 5,199.38 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.80 percent to 6,219.20 points and in Paris the CAC 40 slid by 1.07 percent in value to stand at 3,665.85 points.
