On the 7th May 1919, Evita Peron was born, the first lady of Argentina.
Eva, or as they nicknamed her Evita Peron, was the wife of the well known Argentinean president Juan Peron who was their leader in two periods, from 1946 to 1955 and from 1973 to 1974.
Eva was born in a rural part of Argentina and aged 15 she came to the metropolis with the intention on becoming as actress.
She met her future husband at a charity dinner, and one year later they married.
In the next few years she became influential amongst supporters of her husband.
She founded the charity foundation Eva Peron, and the first large women’s party in the country the Women’s Peronistic Party.
The presidential couple was liked by the population, and were considered icons in the country.
She wanted to candidate herself for vice-president, but the army and her bad health stopped her.
Before her death in 1952, she was officially named the “spiritual leader of the nation”.
