Police arrested three Chinese nationals they suspect are the leaders of the gang behind the fakes.
Spanish police have seized some 8.0 million euros worth of counterfeit goods aimed at the Christmas market and arrested three Chinese nationals, they said Friday.
More than 1.66 million counterfeit items of products by well-known brands popular with children, such as Disney, Spiderman, Hello Kitty, Ben 10, Hannah Montana and Cars, were seized at a warehouse outside Madrid, said a police statement.
They included 35,000 bags, 102,000 colouring books and more than 83,000 stickers, all aimed at the Christmas market, said the statement.
It estimated the retail value of the products at more than 8.0 million euros (11.5 million dollars).
