QALAT, Afghanistan, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- A helicopter carrying goods for NATO-led forces crashed in Afghanistan's Zabul province Sunday, killing four people, an official said.

"A contractor helicopter, which was transporting goods for international forces, was crashed Sunday morning in Shinkay district of Zabul province," Deputy Provincial Governor Mohammad Jan Rasoulyar told China's Xinhua news agency.

"All the victims were foreign nationals," possibly from Tajikistan, he added.

The helicopter crashed near a military base, possibly due to poor weather in the area, Rasoulyar said.

The incident is the fourth helicopter crash in Afghanistan since the beginning of the year, Xinhua reported.

Six American soldiers with the International Security Assistance Force died when their military chopper crashed Jan. 19 in southern Helmand province. The two other crashes left three people dead.
