A short YouTube video features terrorist threats on three German cities, the German Interior Ministry confirmed.
A video clip, with machine guns firing and grenades exploding in the background, does not feature Islamist propaganda. The text along with the images announced that Berlin, Cologne and Bremen would be attacked. However, officials are not positive the threat in question is real.
The Interior Minister said YouTube had removed the clip on January 12, and German security services are analysing a copy of the footage.
Erhart Koerting, Berlin Interior Minister, said experts have assessed that “there is no change is the level of threat for Germany”, pointing out that the footage does not refer to or include the symbols of any radical group.
