The girl did not wish to open her mouth ever again, eat or speak because she was afraid of dentists. She died of kidney failure.
Sophie Waller from Cornwall, Great Britain was exceptionally terrified of the dentist, so her parents took her to the hospital. She had dental surgery, which removed her baby teeth all at once, so that she did not have to go through the trauma again, the BBC writes.
Afterwards, the girl did not want to open her mouth, thus she received I.V. at the hospital.
Richard and Janet Waller, parents of the 8-year-old girl said she did not wish to eat or speak after having her baby teeth taken out, because she was so afraid of the dentist.
The girl remained admitted for ten days and was then released. Three weeks after dental surgery, she died of kidney failure.
In the meantime, the parents took her to psychologists to persuade her to eat, but she refused. Several days before her death, they called the hospital and said they would like to have Sophie readmitted, but the hospital refused.
The pathologist determined that the cause of death was kidney failure, starvation and dehydration.
