Danish police detained around 200 protesters Sunday at an anti-capitalist demonstration on the sidelines of the UN climate talks.
Chanting the slogan "Hit the Production" the demonstrators were confronted by police outside the Oesterport rail station close to the headquarters of Danish shipping giant Moeller-Maersk.
It is thought the protesters, some wearing balaclavas, planned to block a section of Copenhagen's port.
"Around 200 demonstrators were detained," a police spokesman told AFP.
"Gas masks and other illegal items" were found in a van that was part of the demonstration, the spokesman added.
Many of those held at the protest, called by Climate Action Justice, had already been detained at a mass rally in the city on Saturday and then released.
The protesters were taken to a special centre set up by police near Copenhagen, where they can be held for up to 12 hours.
