Indonesia Urges Hamas and West to Talks

Text

The meeting should take place next month.

Indonesia has urged representatives of Western countries and Hamas to hold negotiations in a bid to soften Hamas stands and cease the financial blockage of the Palestinian government.

We want to hear from Hamas their solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict because others want to hear what it is that they want, said Desra Percaya, Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman.

The world’s most populated Muslim country supports Palestinian efforts towards independence. Because of Palestinians, Indonesia does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.
