An official Iranian news agency said on Wednesday some of the 15 British navy personnel detained last week.
IRNA news agency also quoted the official as saying a technical investigation showed the British sailors were "definitely" in Iranian waters when seized in the Gulf last Friday.
"Some of the British soldiers arrested have confirmed that they were in Iranian waters when they were arrested and they have expressed regret for this," IRNA quoted the Iranian official as saying.
