JERUSALEM, March 27 (UPI) -- The Israeli security agency Shin Bet confirmed the French terrorist who killed seven people in Toulouse, including 3 children, visited Israel in September 2010.

Shin Bet said Monday Mohamed Merah entered Israel from Jordan via the Allenby Bridge border crossing for a three day visit. The agency said he was questioned at the bridge but no suspicions were raised and he was not considered a security.

Shin Bet said during Merah's visit he was not known to have made contact with any terrorist organization. After Merah left the country he traveled to Pakistan and Afghanistan, the agency said.

Merah shot at point blank range, killing a rabbi, his two children and a third child at a Jewish School in Toulouse last week. Days earlier he killed three French soldiers.

Merah died in a raid on his apartment by special French police forces Thursday.

Israel television Channel 2 said footage taken by Merah of his killing spree was sent to the al-Jazeera network.
