Rove was supposed to have taken the stand on political influence on justice, but he failed to show up for the hearing.
Former White House adviser Karl Rove has ignored a subpoena from Democrat Congress members to testify on allegations of political pressure on the Justice Department, Bloomberg reports.
Rove was summoned by the Democrats in May and they want him to testify on involvement in firing federal prosecutors or influencing the court`s provisions.
This includes the case of Democratic Alabama governor Don Siegelman, who was charged with corruption. The Justice department is heading an inquest into Siegelman`s case, because there is suspicion he was the victim of a biased trial. He was charged with corruption in 2006 and was convicted to a seven-year prison sentence for receiving graft from HealthSouth Corp. founder Richard Scrushy.
