Kostunica: Bush is to Blame for Kosovo’s Secession

Serbian PM, Vojislav Kostunica, accused US President George Bush as culprit for the secession of Kosovo.

Yesterday Serbian PM Vojislav Kostunica held a speech, during which he violently attacked and criticized the USA and the EU for supporting Albanian separatists, the Serbian media reported. 

Immediately in the first sentences Kostunica attacked the USA who, in his opinion, are the main culprits for the whole situation.

- The false state of Kosovo has been proclaimed illegally, in the part of Serbian territory which lies under the control of NATO. This immemorial anarchy was caused by a destructive, rough and immoral policy carried out by the USA. With this move, the whole world has come to acknowledge that America bullies the UN and that it is ready to arbitrarily break the international order due to its military interests – said Kostunica, and continued in he same tone:

- By bullying the principles of international rights, the USA, as example of blind power, forced the EU to tread on their principles on which the whole EU has been founded. America forced Europe to follow in an outrageous tyranny on Serbia. Today Europe hung its head and for this it will too responsible for all the consequences this tyranny will have on the European and world order. This represents, above all, a humiliation for Europe itself and not for Serbia. Serbia refused to be humiliated, and strongly holding to its rights and refusing to submit to violence.

Kostunica revealed the true reasons for Kosovo’s independence, and these are, above all, military and natural. He said that Kosovo will always remain only a false state.

- Never like today the truth has come up why Serbia was wildly destroyed by NATO’s bombs. The real bases of the false state of Kosovo are put down by NATO’s bombs that destroyed Serbia. Hence we have to tell the truth, that behind this false state stand NATO’s military interests. Only in this way this false state could have been created, and it will always remain false, although its recognition by the western countries scarificed the whole international order and put peace at risk. The president of the USA, who is responsible for this violence, and his European followers, will be written in black letters in the history of Serbia, and in the history of international rights – said Kostunica, who announced another, even bigger concern for all citizens of Serbian nationality who live in Kosovo.

He concluded stating that many throughout history have tried to harm Serbia, but that Serbia is an old European country that has the strength to oppose everyone.

- I want to repeat once again that Serbia is an old country, and the Serbian people are of an old European country. Throughout our history we have found faith in the power of justice and the value of freedom. Rights, justice and freedom will lead us all until we bring back the region of Kosovo where it belongs in its entirety, to Serbia. No one ever managed to stop the Serbian people gaining their freedom. Everything we do not achieve today, new and better generations will tomorrow. Kosovo is Serbia and thus will always have to be.
