NEW TAIPEI, Taiwan, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Authorities in Taiwan said a man died while playing video games at an Internet cafe and his death went unnoticed for as long as nine hours.

Investigators said Chen Rong-yu checked into the cafe in New Taipei Tuesday evening to play the online game "League of Legends" and a waitress noticed Wednesday evening he was dead in his seat, with his arms outstretched toward the computer, Rotaku reported Friday.

Police said Rong-yu was last seen talking on his phone around noon Wednesday and had been dead for as long as nine hours, unnoticed by the other 30 gamers in the facility noticing.

Sky News reported Rong-yu was treated for a heart condition last September and police suspect he may have suffered blood clots and a heart attack as a result of fatigue, lack of movement and cold weather.
