Libya will buy British missiles and air defence systems under a new defence cooperation agreement between the two countries, Libyan Prime Minister al-Baghdadi Al-Mahmoudi said on Tuesday.

"Libya will buy missiles and air defence weapons in addition to (making arrangements for military) training and local manufacturing," he told reporters in the Libyan town of Sirte at the end of a one-day visit to the north African country by British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
