A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend, Bedfordshire police said on Sunday.

The girl was killed following an argument with the man at an address in Luton on Saturday evening, police said.

The man is being held at a nearby hospital where he is being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

Police said they expected to release the girl's identity on Monday as well as the results of a post mortem.
