Missing man burned cash for warmth

TACOMA, Wash., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- A 66-year-old man who was missing for two days in the Washington state mountains said he burned leaves, socks and money to keep warm.

Yong Chun Kim, of Tacoma, Wash., went missing while snowshoe hiking Saturday and was found healthy Monday by a search team, ABC News reported Wednesday.

Kim, who did not require medical attention, said he burned leaves, socks and cash including $1 and $5 bills to keep warm in the freezing temperatures.

"I feel pretty good," Kim said after his rescue Monday.

Kim was reported missing after he fell down a slope and became separated from the group he was leading to an area called Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park.
