Movie on Reconstruction of Mostar Bridge

Jasmila Zbanic has directed a movie upon the script of Boris Dezulovic on the reconstruction of the Old Bridge in Mostar.

Bosnian director Jasmila Zbanic made a movie on the reconstruction of the Old Bridge in Mostar, whose script was written by Croatian writer and columnist, Boris Dezulovic. The movie was filmed during 2003 and 2004, but because of her engagement on the movie “Grbavica”, it will be presented this year. 

-- Besides the film on the reconstruction of the Old Bridge, the Deblokata production company will also present a film on the making of “Grbavica” – Jasmila said.

The movie “Grbavica” received first prize at the film festival in Berlin last year and was pronounced best European movie in 2006. It will soon see its premiere in the United States.

-- There is a lot to do still on “Grbavica”, so I am still tied up in this movie. I am, however, working on a new film, but I cannot reveal the details, it is still in the infancy stages – she said.

The “Dnevni avaz” Bosnia-Herzegovina daily has declared Jasmila the country’s person of the year 2006.
