NATO Invites Slovenia To Stop Blocking Croatia

NATO Secretary General again expressed hope that Croatia and Albania will become full alliance members in time for the April summit.

NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer invited Slovenia on Friday to do everything in its power so that Croatia becomes a NATO member by the April summits in Strasbourg and Kehl.

Expressing “concern” over actions in Slovenia, directed at blocking Croatia`s NATO accession efforts, Scheffer said at the meeting of defence ministers of NATO countries in Krakow that he hopes “that in Strasbourg and Kehl we can greet Croatia as well into the NATO family”.

- Everyone involved including in Slovenia should do everything they can to make sure Croatia is admitted in time for an April 3-4 alliance summit – Scheffer said.
