The Israelis shelled the Gaza Strip for over two weeks and killed over 1,300 people in their unscrupulous attack. According to sources from Gaza hospitals, the victims included some 900 civilians, out of which 430 were children, 110 women and 120 were elderly men.

Furthermore, according to the BBC, 400,000 Palestinians in Gaza were left without water, some 4,000 houses and buildings were destroyed while some 20,000 were damaged in the air strikes. Over 50,800 Gaza residents were left homeless.

Of course, the Gaza attack encountered severe condemnation of humanitarian organisations, human rights groups and the international community. Still, the Gaza Strip did not welcome a single foreign soldier to prevent further killings. Even reporters were banned access to the shelled strip.

Massacre of civilians

We can watch the hell which took place at the Gaza Strip can be seen through the eyes of a 13-year-old Palestinian girl, whose home was destroyed by an Israeli bomb, father, mother, two brothers and a sister were killed. Dalal was comforting her aunt, whose daughter was killed by missiles fired by Israeli tanks at the city`s main square.

- My mother was killed while she carried my four-year-old sister Ghaida in her arms. The two of them were completely burnt - 13-year-old Dalal told Reuters.

Israel has been keeping Palestinians “imprisoned” in Gaza for a long time. Apart from Israel, the strip shares less than 10 kilometres of a border with Egypt. Still, the largest part of all supplies arrived through Israel, which regularly closed its borders, so the Palestinians living there were left without food, water and medical supplies.

Many compared these actions with the Nazis during Holocaust, in many Jewish ghettos throughout Europe. Even one member of the British Parliament, otherwise a Jew, condemned Israel, calling their actions Nazi behaviour.
