Documents show the plane`s engine compressor had malfunctioned.
The plane which landed on the Hudson river a few days ago had malfunctioned two days before taking off.
Peter Knudson, spokesperson of the American National Transportation Safety Board says the Airbus documents show the engine compressor had malfunctioned.
The passengers who flied with the same plane two days prior to the Hudson River landing say they heard bangs in the engine and the pilot was warned to return to the La Guardia Airport.
However, the flight continued and they safely arrived in Charlotte. It is assumed that the investigation on the cause of the accident will take a year.
Pilot Chesley Sullenberger, who landed the plane on the Hudson river and rescued the passengers is a national hero. Every single passenger of that US Airways flight will receive a 5,000 check for their lost luggage. The pilot, his family and the crew were invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of Barack Obama.
