PM Dodik: Croatia Was Built on Genocide!

The Croatians are hiding the truth about Jasenovac, Dodik says, claiming that some 700,000 people had been killed in the concentration camp.

The Prime Minister of the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is preparing the 17th anniversary of the entity for January 9. For the first time, the entity’s anthem “Moja Republika” will be performed.

In an interview for the Serbian Kurir daily, Dodik spoke, among other things, about his “squabbles” with Croatia’s President Stjepan Mesic, who, on one occasion, called Dodik “the new Milosevic”.

- Considering who this comparison is coming from, I am not at all surprised. Uttering nebulous statements is typical for Mesic. If Republika Srpska were weak and powerless, nobody would touch it, but would gloat. But on the contrary, the processes that go on here and the progress Republika Srpska is making cause envy and jealousy in others – Dodik said.

A negligible number of Serbs live in Croatia 

Asked about Mesic’s statements that Republika Srpska had been forged on genocide and war crimes, Dodik replied that he believes Croatia was the one that was created on ethnic cleansing and war crimes.

- As far as I know, a negligible number of Serbs have been living there since the last war. The International Court of Justice established that the only location where genocide took place was in Srebrenica, but that is just one municipality. It is time for Mesic to stop handing out lessons to Serbs and for his to explain the conduct of his country not only in this past war, but also in World War II. Why is he hiding the truth that several thousands of Serbs had been killed in the largest death camp organised by the Ustasha government, in Jasenovac – Didok replied.

- We cannot expect of Croatia to admit the truth, but Serbia and Republika Srpska constantly have to state the only truth about Jasenovac – Dodik responded to the question about what he intended to do to prevent “Croats from falsifying the truth by showing as official data that instead of 700,000 people, ten times less people were killed in Jasenovac”.

Zeljko Komsic is politically immature

Dodik also commented on the fact that the Croatian member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Zeljko Komsic, refused to meet with the Serbian Foreign Minister, Vuk Jeremic, when the latter visited Sarajevo.

- Komsic is politically immature, flooded out after elections in 2006. It is interesting that Croats did not vote for him, but rather Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims). The Muslims chose for themselves an adequate Croat. Although, as far as I know, Jeremic did not even intend to meet with him. Rather, Komsic spoke to an empty audience. He spoke without anybody asking him anything – Dodik said.

In the end, he assessed Bosnia’s repeated filing of a lawsuit for genocide before the International Court of Justice as “mission impossible”.
