A man has been shot dead and a woman injured in Cornwall, police said on Sunday.

Devon and Cornwall police and the ambulance service were called to Porth Kea near Truro late on Saturday following the shooting of the 41-year-old man and a woman.

Armed police in west Cornwall arrested a 23-year-old man, who will be interviewed on Sunday, police said.

The condition of the woman is unknown.
