Detectives looking for a 32-year-old Surrey woman missing for five days have found a body in woods near Watford.

Detectives looking for a 32-year-old Surrey woman missing for five days have found a body in woods near Watford, police said on Monday.

Kate Beagley, from Walton, was last seen by her father early on Wednesday evening.

Officers found the body of a young woman in Oxhey Woods near Watford in Hertfordshire early on Monday.

A formal identification has yet to take place.

The investigation is now being treated as a murder inquiry, a Surrey Police spokeswoman said.

A 27-year-old man arrested in connection with Beagley's dissappearance remains in custody.
