SUSPICIOUS METHANE

NASA scientists have detected a layer of methane on Mars that could be an indicator of organic activity.
During the seven year telescopic exploration of Mars, it was discovered that large quantities of methane exist. On Earth, 90 percent of the methane that exists was created as a by-product of living organisms, writes the British Telegraph.
First recorded in 2003, methane is highly concentrated in certain regions, and scientists still do not know if it was created by volcanic or organic activity.
The discovery of water vapour that was recorded with methane led experts to consider the possibility that the elements were created by methanogens, which are single celled microorganisms that could survive under the underground ice.
Most experts agree with the opinion that methane is mainly a biological by-product, and that this discovery could be very important.
NASA announced that the complete results of the research will be announced during Thursday in Washington.
