Protesters shouted slogans against the king, threw stones at the police and tried to burst in the royal palace.
A mass of people, who were celebrating the fall of the monarchy and the proclamation of the Republic of Nepal, clashed with the police in the Nepalese capital, Kathmandu, the BBC reports.
Protesters shouted slogans against the king, threw stones at the police and tried to burst in the royal palace.
At least 25 people were injured when the police stroke back and attacked the protesters with batons.
Nepal became a republic after a 240-year-rule of the Shah dynasty.
