Australian ABBA tribute band Bjorn Again arrived in Moscow and held a private show for Russian Prime Minister Putin.
Vladimir Putin, former Russian president and current PM is a passionate ABBA fan, the Telegraph reports.
His aides invited the Australian ABBA tribute band Bjorn Again. Analysts believe this information might threaten Putin’s image of a rigid politician.
- I got a phone call before Christmas. The voice on the end of the phone said: `Kremlin... Russia... Moscow... we want your band` - said Rod Stephens, founder of Bjorn Again.
The building where the concert took place was crawling with soldiers, even the musicians` belongings were searched. A sofa was placed under the stage where premier Putin sat. He was wearing a tuxedo and was accompanied by his wife.
The running order included sing-along hits Waterloo, Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen. According to band member Jennifer Robb, Putin was in high spirits.
The concert lasted only an hour, but the band earned 20,000 pounds.
