A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck Bolivia in the region of Potosi near the border with Chile on Saturday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damages.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered about 105 miles (170 km) northeast of Calama, Chile, and had a magnitude of 6.0.
It hit at 1445 GMT at a depth of 83 miles (134 km), the agency said.
No injuries or damages were reported in either country. Chile's emergency response agency described the tremor as a "low intensity quake."
The mineral-rich northern Chile region has experienced several tremors of similar strength since a mammoth 7.7-magnitude quake on Nov. 14 interrupted production at some of the country's largest copper mines.
