The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the quake, which struck at 9:10 a.m. (0710 GMT), measured 5.2 on the Richter scale.
"It was a quake 275 km (170 miles) southwest of Athens in the sea south of the Peloponnese," an institute official said. "We consider it an aftershock of the Feb. 14 quake."
The quake was felt in the southern part of the peninsula. No damage or injuries were reported.
A tremor measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale occurred in the same area on Feb. 14. That quake was felt throughout Greece and as far as Cairo, but no damage or injuries were reported.
