Ratko Mladic Changes Looks with Plastic Surgery

Text

A Serbian newspaper did a photomontage of Ratko Mladic, who is said to have had a lot of plastic surgery done.

Ratko Mladic has changed his appearance with plastic surgery to such an extent that he could take a stroll down the main street in Belgrade without worrying that he may be recognized. At least this is what Security Faculty professor Zoran Dragisic claims, as he told Belgrade newspaper Kurir.

Judging from Kurir's photomontage, Mladic is an old man who is hard to recognize today. The only thing that gives him away are his strikingly blue eyes, while his other facial features, with intelligent and discreet camouflage, would allow him to walk down not only downtown in Belgrade, but also through the streets of the Hague.

A possible image of him was drawn taking into consideration Mladic's health condition - he has reportedly suffered two strokes - as well as stress, irregular diet, spending long periods indoors, and genetic predispositions.

The degree to which years of hiding and illness can change a person is most evident in the example of general Zdravko Tolimir Tosa, who was hiding from the Hague with Mladic for several years. He surprised everyone when he turned up in the Hague, looking like a mere shadow of a hunched old man. The extent to which the changes of Tolimir's physical appearance gained swing is most evident in the fact that, up until a few months leading to his arrest, he was able to drive freely on the Belgrade public transport without anyone in the crowd recognizing him, writes Kurir.
