Recycling plant burns in Montreal

MONTREAL, June 8 (UPI) -- A large paper recycling facility caught fire in Montreal Wednesday, officials said.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported more than 75 firefighters had converged at the scene of the four-alarm fire.

The (Montreal) Gazette, citing local television reports, said the St. Patrick Street blaze had spread to much of the building by 5 p.m.

CTV posted a photo on its Web site showing a large plume of dark smoke rising from the CIE de recyclage plant.
