Russia Cautiously Optimistic On Clinton Meeting

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet Clinton in Geneva on Friday for dinner.

Russia is cautiously optimistic about a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her Russian counterpart, Interfax news agency quoted a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet Clinton in Geneva on Friday for dinner in the first meeting of the foreign ministers since U.S. President Barack Obama took office in January.

"We await with cautious optimism the outcome of these talks," Interfax quoted the spokesman as saying.
