Russian police have detained a senior official in the anti-narcotics squad on suspicion of selling large amounts of illegal drugs over the Internet, Russian media reported on Tuesday.

Russia's Vesti-24 television station reported the man was a lieutenant-colonel in the Federal Nartotics Control Service. It said he ran the illegal business with a female relative.
