The presidency of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDP BiH) on Tuesday evening accepted the decision of SDP BiH vice president and Croat member of the Bosnian collective presidency Zeljko Komsic to leave the party, saying that this move was connected with the attempt of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) to destabilise the SDP BiH.
SDP BiH president Zlatko Lagumdzija said this was Komsic’s personal decision and nobody could influence it. “I am sorry that Komsic has done this, I can understanding him on the political and party level, but I cannot justify his decision,” Lagumdzija said.
He stressed that Komsic’s leaving the party represented the SDA’s attempt to destabilise the SDP BiH.
Komsic asked to be expunged from the SDP BiH membership, expressing his opposition to draft constitutional amendments which the SDP BiH agreed with the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH)
