Montenegro is trying to mend relations with Serbia, but the SNS is accusing it for secretly organising the visit of a war criminal.
The Serb People’s Party (SNS) described the announced visit of Kosovo’s interim Prime Minister Hashim Thaci to Montenegro as “adding oil to fire”, due to Montenegro’s decision to recognise Kosovo as an independent state, Serbia’s Kurir reported.
- We expect that, if he enters Montenegro, the suspect is arrested and brought to Serbia’s justice organs, in line with the publicised policy of good neighbourly relations and respect of international standards – SNS vice-president Slaven Radunovic told Kurir.
He also said that Foreign Minister Milan Rocen had announced more efforts in improving the disrupted diplomatic relations between Montenegro and Serbia which are their lowest levels ever.
In light of such announcements, Radunovic condemned the organisation and preparations for the visit of Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaci which are being carried out in secrecy, he said. He also recalled the many accusations of war crimes against the Serbian and Montenegrin people in Kosovo.
