He was the 15th teenager to be murdered in the capital this year. Last year 26 teenagers were either shot or stabbed.
A teenager shot in the street in Camden, north London, on Saturday night has died, Scotland Yard said on Thursday.
Sharmaarke Hassan, 17, died at a north London hospital late on Wednesday after he was shot in the head.
The Crown Prosecution Service said the teenager had recent convictions for possession of cannabis, offering to supply the drug, and breaching an ASBO.
The shooting happened on the same night that 18-year-old actor Rob Knox, who had a small part in the upcoming "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince", was stabbed during a fight outside a pub in Sidcup, Kent.
Hassan was the 15th teenager to be murdered in the capital this year. Last year 26 teenagers died after being either shot or stabbed.
A post mortem was due to be carried out later on Thursday.
There remains no clear motive for the shooting. Police said they were keeping an open mind.
Media reports at the time said it could have been a reprisal for an earlier shooting in Archway, north London.
No one has been arrested for either incident.
Detectives from Scotland Yard's Trident squad, which deals with gun crime in the black community, are investigating.
