Police found a backpack next to the building`s entrance after the call and roped off the area in the northern town of Lazkao.

A small bomb exploded outside a local headquarters of Spain's ruling Socialist Party in the Basque Country after a telephone warning claiming to be from Basque separatist group ETA, police said on Monday.

Police found a backpack next to the building's entrance after the call and roped off the area in the northern town of Lazkao.

The backpack exploded shortly afterwards without causing any injuries, police said.
