Teacher Makes Pupil Blind For Failing To Answer

An India teacher stabbed one of his pupils with a pin, because she did not know the answer to a question he asked.

The teacher`s action left the girl blind, as he stuck a pin into her eye. He will be charged with attempted murder.

Chhattisgarh state police said the teacher used the pin to stab the pupil when she did not provide an answer to the question he asked in class.

- This is a very inhumane and brutal act – said T.R. Koshima, a high police official in central India, Thursday.

He added that medical tests showed the girl had not vision in her right eye.

The teacher has been at large since the incident took place last November, but Koshima said they received charges on Wednesday.

The government said it would cover all medical costs and appealed to the police to intensively look for the teacher.
