Text

The teenager`s death comes just days after 16-year-old Nassirudeen Osawe was fatally stabbed at a bus stop in Islington.

An 18-year-old man has died after being stabbed early on New Year's Day in north London, Scotland Yard said on Tuesday.

Police said the victim was on his way home after New Year celebrations in central London. He was stabbed after getting off a night bus in Fore Street in Edmonton with nine friends.

The group became involved in an argument with a number of youths in the street and were chased into nearby Plevna Road where the victim was stabbed at around 6:30 a.m.

He was taken to North Middlesex Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police appealed for information from anyone travelling on the night bus, a 279, or who saw the argument in the street, which took place opposite a supermarket open at the time.

The teenager's death comes just days after 16-year-old Nassirudeen Osawe was fatally stabbed at a bus stop in Islington, north London.

Osawe's death took the toll of teenagers murdered in London last year to 27, fuelling concern about the level of violence among young people in Britain's inner cities.
