Quite sudden return and new curfew recently introduced in Honduras, provoke new deaths on the streets.
The government putschist Roberto Micheleti had to raise, on Thursday, September 24th, from 6 hours, the curfew established on Monday, after surprise return of the deposed president, Manuel Zelaya, who currently took refuge at the embassy of Brazil in Tegucigalpa, the Honduras capital. - We asked the state employees and the employees of the private sector to resume their activities, - indicates a message of the authorities revealed by the media.
The curfew was originally the reason that led to the death, on Wednesday, a man hurt by the bullet in the capital. 65-year-old, the man had been shot while he took advantage of a suspension of the curfew to stock up. According to Mr Zelaya, the repression had caused more than ten deaths among his partisans, since the first confrontations with police, on Tuesday. The non-governmental organization Human Rights Watch denounced the death of a young man, the police victim, in San Pedro Sula. The defenders of human rights also evoked four unconfirmed deaths in Tegucigalpa.
While the tension goes up in streets, both parties, Mr Zelaya and the president Roberto Micheletti, appointed by the putschists on June 28th, say they are prepared to sit once again at the table, without any sign of actual exchanging of ideas. The ambassadors of Americas and the European Union, who had withdrawn as a sign of protest against the putsch, announced their return in Tegucigalpa. They should loosen the reins around the embassy of Brazil, which must be furnished by the embassy of the United States.
In United Nations, the General Secretary, Ban Ki-moon, suspended the technical assistant of the UN for the general elections, planned for November 29th. He justified his decision by the absence - conditions for the holding of credible elections. - At the UN, foreign secretaries of Brazil, Spain and of Costa Rica, as well as the General Secretary of the Organization of American states, the most involved in the solution of the Honduran crisis, held an emergency meeting.
