A forest worker was killed by a tiger in a Bangladesh safari park on Saturday, an official said.

The tiger swooped on the worker while he was cleaning weeds in the 900-hectare (2,250-acre) Dulhazara Safari Park, home to three tigers and a small herd of elephants.

The park is about 350 km (217 mile) southeast of the capital Dhaka.

Forests cover about 17.5 percent of Bangladesh, one of the world's most densely populated nations.
