The luckiest lottery player in the U.S.A. who has won a half of the record amount of $390 million is a truck driver from Georgia.
A truck driver from the U.S. federal state of Georgia has come forward with a lottery ticket that won him a half of the Mega Millions lottery in the amount of 390 million dollars, which is the biggest sum of prize money in the history of U.S. lottery.
- I am still dazed – said the winner, Ed Nabors from Rocky Face, a town 150 km north of Atlanta.
The lucky winner decided to take the whole amount at once instead of getting it in annual payments. He will get the sum of 116.5 million dollars before taxation. He had bought the ticket in a supermarket surrounded by carpet factories in Dalton, Georgia.
The other winning ticket was sold in a liquor store in New Jersey and the owner has not yet claimed the prize. The odds of winning this lottery were 1 to 176 million.
The biggest lottery jackpot in the U.S.A. so far was the one in the amount of 365 million dollars, won by eight slaughterhouse workers from Nebraska in 2006.
