Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday Turkey was focused on fighting Kurdish rebels domestically rather than in Iraq.

Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday Turkey was focused on fighting Kurdish rebels domestically rather than in Iraq, amid growing speculation that Turkey would launch a cross-border military operation.

"Has the fight with the 5,000 terrorists finished domestically, that we should now be talking about Iraq?" Erdogan told reporters when asked about speculation over an operation against Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels based in Iraq.
