Two journalists found murdered in Dhaka

DHAKA, Bangladesh, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Two well-known Bangladeshi television journalists were killed Saturday in Dhaka, officials said.

Sagar Sarwar and his wife, Meherun Runi, were found stabbed to death in their apartment, the BBC reported.

Police said the bodies were discovered by their 5-year-old son, who then called relatives who lived nearby.

The motives for the killings is not yet known, police said.

Sagar Sarwar worked as a news editor for the private TV station Maasranga. He was found with his hands tied behind he back, police said.

Meherun Runi was a senior reporter at ATN Bangla, another private station.

Investigators said the couple's murder seemed to have been planned and that the couple had probably known their attackers.
