The Financial Services Authority said on Tuesday a number of addresses in Greater London were also searched as part of the investigation.

Britain's financial regulator on Tuesday said it arrested two people, including a senior corporate finance adviser, in connection with suspected organised insider trading in a further effort to clamp down on market abuse.

The Financial Services Authority said on Tuesday a number of addresses in Greater London were also searched as part of the investigation.

The FSA last week won its first criminal prosecution against insider dealing, against a solicitor and his father-in-law.

The pair were on Monday each sentenced to eight months in prison for insider dealing and sharing the proceeds in the lead up to an acquisition.
