The U.N. Security Council on Friday lifted a 6-year-old ban on Liberian diamond exports aimed at stopping so-called blood diamonds -- used to fuel civil wars -- from reaching the world market.
A resolution passed unanimously by the 15-nation body provided for the council to review that decision after 90 days, said the council president, British Ambassador Emyr Jones Parry. (Reuters)
