Six superpowers expressed hope of finishing the draft for the resolution of imposing sanctions to Iran because they do not wish to stop enriching uranium which can be used to manufacture bombs, but for civilian purposes at the same time.
-We still need to solve an issue or two- said the British Ambassador in UN, Emyr Jones Parry after conversing with the United States, Russia and China, who are along with Great Britain and Germany permanent UN Security Council members.
It is still not familiar when the vote will take place, but emissaries hope it might be this weekend, although postponements among the 15 in Security Council are more of a rule than an exemption.
New sanctions should include an embargo for conventional weapons export, ban for ratification of new loans to the government in Teheran and freezing assets from extended lists of Iranian officials and companies linked with Iranian nuclear programme, as diplomats claim.
The new resolution is a continuation of the resolution from December 23, with which trade sanctions are imposed on Iran for import of delicate nuclear equipment and technology and assets of main Iranian heads, organisations and companies are frozen.
