VideoDefence Minister Ehud Barak`s left-leaning Labour Party came in fourth place with 13 seats, exit polls showed.
Three exit polls by Israeli broadcasters showed Kadima winning between 29 and 30 seats in parliament, versus 27 to 28 seats for Netanyahu's Likud party.
Overall, exit polls confirmed a general rightward shift, including a surge to between 14 and 15 seats for far-rightist Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beiteinu party, after a campaign marked by Israel's three-week offensive in the Gaza Strip.
